FAQ
What is holistic massage?
Holistic massage is a whole-body approach that supports relaxation, circulation, and nervous-system downshift. It can be lighter and more flowing, and is often helpful when stress, fatigue, or general tightness are the main issues — while still addressing specific areas when needed.
What is deep tissue massage?
Deep tissue massage focuses on relieving persistent tension by working through deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. Pressure is always adapted to you — the goal is effective, targeted relief (not “as hard as possible”).
What should I expect in my first session?
We’ll start with a quick check-in about your goals, pain/tension areas, injuries, and daily habits. Then you’ll get a targeted treatment. After the session, I’ll share simple aftercare tips (e.g. hydration, movement, and what to watch for over the next 24–48 hours).
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable clothing. Depending on the treatment and area, you may be asked to remove some clothing while remaining appropriately covered with towels at all times. If you prefer staying more covered, tell me — we can adapt.
What should I tell you in advance?
Please mention any injuries, recent surgeries, pregnancy, medications (especially blood thinners), skin sensitivities, and any medical conditions you think could matter. Also tell me what pressure you like and any areas you don’t want treated.
Will it hurt? Can I ask for less pressure?
You’re in control. Some techniques can feel intense, but it should never feel sharp or unsafe. You can ask for lighter pressure at any time, and we’ll adjust.
What should I do after the session?
Drink water, keep moving gently (a walk is great), and avoid heavy training if you feel tender. Mild soreness can happen, especially after deeper work, and usually settles within 24–48 hours.
When should I not book (or should I message first)?
If you have a fever/flu symptoms, a contagious skin condition, unexplained swelling, or a new acute injury, it’s better to wait. If you’re unsure, book a slot and add the details in the notes — or reach out before the session so we can choose the safest approach.
